This past Sunday we closed off a week and a half of dancing, eating, and rodeoing by hosting One Last Buck with Calgary Stampede at Nashville North. It’s always a little bittersweet when Stampede comes to a close for another year, because all tongue-in-cheek jokes and good-natured teasings aside, we are so 100% here for everything Stampede means to our city. Every year, our team gets out there from start to finish, embracing the loud, the western, the over-the-top, the down-and-dirty, and the downright crazy. This town is our home and we love its biggest block party!

To help us say a fond farewell to this year’s celebration, here are a few of our team’s most memorable moments from Stampede 2019:

Dustin:
Between the corndogs and the Bud Lights, you can always find something a bit unexpected.”

“Tucked away in BMO Centre, you’ll find Western Oasis, one of Stampede’s most unique and off-the-beaten-path events. Every year, this arts and culture destination is an incredible place to take in a huge variety of styles, purchase artwork, and even meet the artists, who are from all over North America. This year, Weston and I had the opportunity to meet Shannon Ford, an incredible Canadian artist whom I have admired for years. One of the great things about Stampede is that between the corndogs and the Bud Lights, you can always find something a bit unexpected.”

Renee:
The vibe, the people watching, the music, and just being with a great group of friends.”

This year, I really enjoyed the outdoor concerts. I love the vibe, the people watching, the music, and just being with a great group of friends. Billy Idol in particular was surprisingly amazing.”

Amy:
“Returning to Stampede feels like a homecoming every year.”

“Now that I live in Vancouver, returning to Stampede feels like a homecoming every year, especially at our One Last Buck event. It’s a chance for me to reconnect with my team, industry contacts, and friends. It never ceases to amaze me how the whole city leans into Stampede, and I love getting the chance to bring back a big dose of western hospitality spirit to BC!“

Samara:
“The best part of Stampede was seeing it from the other side!”

“The best part of Stampede this year was seeing it from the other side! After working for Calgary Stampede and being on-park for 5 years, it was awesome to see the rest of the city and enjoy the celebrations happening off-park.”

Jen:

“Getting to be onsite and listen to people’s immediate reactions is so exciting.”
“My most memorable moment was working on the grounds and just getting to be part of such an amazing and large event as it came together. Seeing the projects that we have been working so hard on come together, and getting to be onsite and listen to people’s immediate reactions to the space, is so exciting. Plus I always love helping with the inevitable challenges that pop up.”

So there you have it – another epic ride in the books, and we’re already off and on to the next thing. You know we love to talk Stampede, though, so if you have your own favourite moment we’d love to hear about it! Congratulations to all of the talented and tenacious people who work so hard behind the scenes to pull off Stampede each year, and a huge thank you to all of our clients who trusted us with their Stampede events and activations – we are so honoured to help you celebrate.
